Event Details
This session focuses on how you should go about exploring a solution that solves the problem for the user in an iterative and agile manner. One of the most common mistakes that entrepreneurs do is fix their minds on the original idea they had. They cling to their original idea and overlook many other ways of solving that problem. They also become attached to specific use of technologies and lose sight of the user’s context. This session will help you with brainstorming techniques to explore ideas using a wider angle. You will also learn some prototyping techniques and approaches to get feedback from the user and creating an experience vision. You’ll also be introduced to the power of storytelling.

Event Details
This session highlights that there is uncertainty inherent in any new venture as well as describes a practical way to quantify this risk and gives a practical approach to the entrepreneurial team to prioritize and mitigate the most important risk factors. This chapter explains that the basic elements contributing to uncertainty of a venture are the assumptions being taken in all the stages of the venture. The chapter also gives a framework in classifying these assumptions as ‘critical’, ‘major’ or ‘minor’ categories and gives suggestions on how to track these assumptions.
We’ll also review the entire Transform 3+1 framework towards the end.

Omar’s parents immigrated to the United States from Pakistan in 1983. His first exposure to politics was going with his siblings while in elementary school to protests against the Iraq war. Throughout his upbringing, his family would never shy away from politics and the belief that the most patriotic thing a person could do was fight to make government better. This ethos stayed with him as he went to De Anza Community College where he managed a student budget of $1.2 million. It was also then that he was appointed one of the youngest commissioners in Sunnyvale city history to the Parks and Recreations Commission. He completed his degree in public policy at Cornell University. He intend to use the knowledge he gained from those experiences, and from working for Assembly member Evan Low and Congressmember Mike Honda, for the City of Sunnyvale.

Maimona helped develop and implement inclusive curriculum and helped craft anti-bullying policies. She advocated for state legislation and trained educators on fostering safer schools. Witnessing inequity as a special education teacher and experiencing injustice as a visible muslim compelled her to run for a school board vacancy where she became the only woman to serve on the school board at the time. She won her election in November 2018, and is now the first hijabi Muslim and the youngest woman serving as an elected official in San Jose and all of Santa Clara County. Netflix’s ever changing libraries of movies, shows and original content have changed the way people watch TV. Netflix success is credited to pioneering ways that the company incorporated AI and Machine Learning (ML) into its products, services and infrastructure. Netflix is a data driven company. Data offers power insights for making informed business decisions. It fuels experimentation and innovation and helps Netflix discover content with a goal of predicting what our members want to watch next. To accelerate innovation velocity, Netflix has been building cloud native ML infrastructure that promotes: collaboration, model reuse and data abstraction.
Netflix notebook system and enhancements, ML libraries and orchestration help run hundreds and thousands of experiments every day. ML models should learn and adapt to new data as it arrives, and that is automated via CI/CD platform and DevOps support. Powerful multi-GPU cloud instances and distributed TensorFlow libraries making it possible to run more experiments and train more complex models in a short amount of time. At Netflix, ML is applied to tackle a wide range of challenges such as: personalizing member viewing experience, improving streaming quality, resource management, capacity forecasting, regional fail over and anomaly detection.
