OPEN Silicon Valley is hosting a series of webinar to highlight candidate who have dedicated their time to serving communities they live in. This is an opportunity to meet the candidates and learn what drives them to public service and how they aspire to make positive impact in the communities they serve.

Sabina Zafar was inaugurated into office on December 11, 2018 and is currently serving her first term as a Councilwoman. In November 2019, she was appointed as the Vice Mayor by unanimous vote of the Council and Mayor. She is an accomplished technology leader, community volunteer, mentor and mother. As a San Ramon resident, Sabina is wholeheartedly committed to giving back to her city. She has dedicated her career and personal time to improving our community, empowering women & girls to pursue STEM careers, helping make San Ramon the center of technology and innovation in the Bay Area, and promises to ensure transparency and inclusion in our local government for all residents.

Sabina holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Computer and Information Systems from the University of South Alabama. She is an Enterprise Architecture Leader at General Electric Digital in San Ramon, delivering technology solutions for Global Industrial companies. Sabina has raised both her children in San Ramon and they attended SRVUSD from K -12.
